Service: No complaints! Food was delivered quickly by an attentive and sweet server.
Booze: Unimpressive beer list; local brews, but too many IPAs. ‘Too many IPAs’ is not a popular opinion, I am aware. But can I get just ONE flavorful beer for beer lovers that don’t appreciate IPAs?!

Surprise! Pork belly won best in show on the steamed buns. Chewy, crunchy, sweet, salty… pickles AND peanuts… All were delicious but this one in particular was just outstanding. Could eat ten. As for the pork face hash? Ditto. So light and refreshing yet spicy and hearty and satisfying. Pork! Pork! Pork! Three cheers for pork! The torchon was stunning both in appearance and flavor; unlike anything I’ve eaten before.
Kudos: Great options for vegetarians… and pork lovers alike. Did I mention pork?
Overall: Wonderful, simple—yet inspired—bites in a gorgeous—yet again simple—atmosphere. Rook is a keeper! (Which doesn’t come as much surprise.) I can’t wait to try a bahn mi.
